Good Medical Practice (GMP)

Healthcare Management

Doctors have been considered God at every level of perception and from every segment of the society.

Doctors are in a unique position to not only treat illness and disease, but to reassure their patients about their treatment and long-term prognosis.

Good Medical Practice includes that Doctor must be skilled in science, diagnosis and treatment, practise  ethically. Patients' welfare  must  be their first concern.

Communication is the most important skill for a doctor. Asking them questions about their health and then explaining their diagnoses and treatment plans in terms the patients can understand.

Diagnosing a patient involves understanding the symptoms exhibited and putting them together to understand what is wrong with the patient internally that allow medical decisions about treatment and prognosis to be made.

Diagnosis should direct the course of treatment and the consequences of a wrong diagnosis can be devastating.

The doctor may then treat the patient. Treatment involves providing the correct recommendations to a patient, including medicine and surgery.

A prompt treatment could bring back a patient to normal health.

2000 years ago Aiyan Thiruvalluvar defined the Good Medical Practice.

Explanation by Scholars:

Let the physician enquire into the (nature of the) disease, its cause and its method of cure and treat it faithfully according to good medical practice.

Healthy Lifestyle

Healthcare Management
Most of us have our food while texting on the mobile phones or watching television and don’t really keep a count on how much we eat. Though the stomach might be full, the brain tells that to eat more and eventually end up over-eating.  If we focus only on food then we will eat only as much as our body requires.
It is not fun to talk about it, but we have all experienced it before enjoying a nice meal only to regret it later when our stomachs hurt due to indigestion. Some of the symptoms of indigestion include bloating, belching, gas, burning or pain in the stomach or abdomen, and even nausea. We should eat the easier to digest foods first in each meal and slowly move towards the more complex.
Think of a highway, if the slowest cars are in front they will hold up the faster cars behind them, causing a traffic jam. The same is applicable for food and digestive system also. Eat those fastest to digest first and save the tougher to digest foods for the second half of the meal.
Excessive intake of food greatly burdens the entire digestive system. While knowing what to eat and how much to eat is important and it always helps to boost the process of digestion.
A good food habit is important not only for good health but also for maximum physical and mental wellbeing.
Aiyan Thiruvalluvar says

Explanation by Scholars:
If (one's food has been) digested let one eat with moderation, (for) that is the way to prolong the life of an embodied soul.
