Self-discipline

Personality Development

On numerous occasions people talk about the importance of having self-discipline.

Self-discipline is not something that we are born with. It is a learned behavior. It requires practice and repetition in our day-to-day life. Commitment is one of the keys to self-discipline.

Everybody will have ups and downs, fabulous successes, and flat out failures.

It is easy to get wrapped up in guilt, anger, or frustration, but these emotions will not help to improve self-discipline.

Improved self-discipline will allow us to live a freer life by helping us to make healthy choices and not emotional ones.

Measuring the current results against past results can be an effective method that helps to stay focused, motivated and disciplined.

That is the only way to ensure that a person will have enough long-term staying power to stick with goal.

There are many important qualities that can contribute to a person’s achievements and happiness, but there is only one that begets sustainable, long-term success in all aspects of life ie, self-discipline.

Aiyan Thiruvalluvar says

Explanation by Scholars:

Propriety of conduct leads to eminence. It should therefore be preserved more carefully than life.
